ABOUT US

Our Biography:
Paddling to a waterfallCompass Rose Expeditions utilizes wilderness settings, low impact camping philosophies and practices, and an extensive history in the field of experiential education to fashion thrilling adventures. We specialize in designing and executing multi-day self supported wilderness sea kayaking programs. Through these programs we seek to share our passion for paddling and exploration, as well as to educate our guests through experiences that we hope further develop their understanding of the world around them and the people with whom they interact. We are based on the coast of Maine, and the majority of our trips are run here. With countless islands and one of the most textured coastlines in the world, the state of Maine offers possibilities for exploration found in few other places around the globe. Our guides’ extensive knowledge of the entire coast means that no bay or inlet is off limits. Though years of experience on this coastline have led us to our three major destinations: Muscongus Bay, Deer Isle, and the Downeast Coast.

Our Risk Management training, methods, and an emphasis on thorough logistical planning, combine to ensure unique experiences of the highest quality.
